Evening eveybody,

I write this from the peace and quiet of my coop. We have two coops here, one large  and one medium sized. For some reason all the girls, except Blackie and Blue sleep in the big coop, which leaves me loads of room to stretch my dancing legs and get a good nights sleep without all the chatter going on!!!

This week has seen some drama I can tell you. Val, yes Val, disappeared for the day, none of us could find her until the humans came home in the evening. Apparently, according to the chicken gossip, she was carried in by the humans having been found  walking up the driveway. She then went missing all night, the girls clucked it through to me from the other coop, but by the time I got the message the coop doors were shut and I couldn't get out to find her. She turned up safe and sound and I over heard the humans saying they had no idea where she had been. The next day they found her snuggled down in the bush on the dangerous side of the fence. It seems she was fed up of waitiing for Blue to come out from the "laying corner" so went off and created herself a quiet nest and laid a couple of eggs. I'm going to get Val to write next week's blog and give us her side of the story.

Blue and Blackie are still very broody and the humans are still having to move them so they eat and drink.

The Crows are back again and stealing our food, we are trying everything to get them to go away, I guess I had better go out and see what's happening and make sure they are not still about. Other than that it's been a fairly quiet week, oh except for the mouse found stealing our food from the greenhouse!!

Hope you've enjoyed your long weekend and have a clucking good week

Charlie
